Steps To Restore Deleted Files From Avast Virus Chest?

When Avast detects dangerous files and apps on your computer, it will quarantine them so that they can’t harm your system. The antivirus will put them in the so-called Avast Virus Chest. The antivirus will not delete those files right away. Instead, it will give you a chance to review them and see if they’re really harmful.

If the antivirus has quarantined some legit files by accident, you can restore them back easily. According to the people from Avast technical support, this is the easiest way to do it:

For Windows Computers

  • Step 1 – Open Avast antivirus
  • Step 2 – Hold the mouse pointer over Scan
  • Step 3 – Click Scan for Viruses
  • Step 4 – At the bottom of the window, you will see a link saying Quarantine or Virus Chest
  • Step 5 – The Virus Chest will open with a list of quarantined files
  • Step 6 – Find the file you want to restore
  • Step 7 – Right-click on the file and select Restore from the menu

This way the deleted file will be restored. But, if you want to prevent the same from happening again, instead of clicking on Restore, choose ‘Restore and Add to Exclusions’.
